Post 7 - Organizational Strategy for Doc2

My organizational strategy is relatively simple. I always start on paper never on my laptop. I create an outline: Main idea, support idea, support idea, ect.  I scout out credible information and annotate all possible choices for my paper. If I don't use a source I found, I cross it out. I usually struggle with a introduction constantly rewording or going a different course completely. I make many scribbles and somehow mix it together to make a decent paper. I like to write on paper because if I do not like what I wrote I can just mark through it. If I were typing it, it would be deleted and gone forever. Even if I didn't like that particular sentence at the time, I might use it later or just rearrange words. On paper it is easy to go back and on a laptop it is gone. I've used this organizational strategy for not only Doc2, but other essays as well.

  1. I like that you create an outline to plug in your main idea, support idea, and etc. Completing things on paper allows you the opportunity to look at things differently. You can place your ideas on paper, cross through the things you do not like until you come up with the right information to plug in. I have used this method but I also like the method of typing things on the laptop. I can still get my ideas out on paper but I can go back and rearrange my ideas once I read what has been written. I think it just depends on what works best for you. Your strategy is a great one to have. Thank you so much for sharing.

  2. That's interesting how you start on paper first. In my opinion, it's a forgotten strategy that many of us have completely erased it when writing. But This is a really good strategy to use!

  3. Great strategy to start with paper! My entire doc1 was all about why paper is better than digital and based on my research I do agree with paper! Beginning with paper is so refreshing and the tangibleness makes the creative workflow pleasant and somehow seems to put the mind at ease, at-least as it does for me. And I like that along with this genius strategy, you create the structure of your entire essay including your supporting references witch is awesome. This was you can build around those bones and keep on tract with your essays ultimate flow and structure. Great work!
